On November 5, 2024, the Department of Transportation (DOT) published a final rule in the Federal Register to provide temporary qualification requirements for mock oral fluid monitors, provide for consistent requirements by identifying which individuals may be present during an oral fluid collection, and clarify how collectors are to document that a sufficient volume of oral fluid was collected.
The final rule outlined that Oral Fluid qualification Training and Proficiency Mock Demonstrations (Mocks for DOT oral fluid collectors can begin Dec 5th, 2024.)

How to get Qualified
§ 40.35 Subpart C requires that Collectors will be required to become qualified for oral fluid collections by being knowledgeable about part 40 requirements and receive qualification training meeting the requirements of Subpart C. Once this qualification training has been successfully completed, a collector must successfully complete 5 consecutive error free mock collection demonstrations.
Beginning December 5th Accredited Drug Testing in conjunction with US DOT Oral Fluid Collector Training will begin administering training courses and qualification mock demonstrations in all live training courses and via zoom.
